Thanks for thinking about us!
You came to this page by clicking on the icon of a link to “Social Networks”. As if there was something social, about social networks.
I wish we had said this first –
“Your social network is owned by advertisers. Every post you share, every friend you create and every link you follow is crawled, recorded and converted into data. Advertisers buy your data so they can show you more ads. You are the product that is bought and sold. We believe there is a better way. We believe in audacity. We believe in beauty, simplicity and transparency. We believe that the people who make things and the people who use them must be in society. We believe that a social network can be a tool for empowerment. It is not a tool to deceive, coerce and manipulate, but a place to connect, create and celebrate life. You are not a product.” …We echo the comments of Ello.
Social media exists only to track all your movements. Think about it. And then, monetize your browsing history to sell, scare, incite or be as least sociable as possible. They use your “like” and your browsing history against you, to complete their soulless and lonely mission to take advantage of your history to earn money, while isolating you even more. Even Big Brother (by George Orwell, “1984”), could not have understood the sponsored intrusion that are social networks.
Sure, we’d love to “talk-up” and tell all your friends about this great program, HOWEVER, not at your expense, or to identify you as someone who uses enhanced date security. Telling family and friends in person? Cool! Online. No! We think that is nonsense.
Remember that you are here because you want to protect your data and, we assume, your private information. As much as we would love to move to go to a “fill in the blank” and “I like it” page. We just do not want you to tell everyone that you are using enhanced security to protect your data. The two, they just do not go together.
